App Interface / Usability:
The Prisma App is very user-friendly. All you need to do is to install the app. When it’s installed and running, you’ll see, on the bottom, a square with a shutter circle. Here you have two options: you can either use the flash or switch between the back and front cameras, depending on the photo you want to take. After snapping the shutter, you’ll see many different filters you cam then use on the photo you just took.
Despite there are so many similar photo apps, it’s amazing that the Prisma App was able to do something completely different from the others.
After you take the photo, you have 29 different filters to choose from to edit your photo. So, you’ll definitely find the one that best fits it.
With the Android version release, the app lost some of its prior features. One of them was the number of filters you can use. However, it really doesn’t make a particular difference. However, it also used to include some filters of the latest works of very famous artists like Van Gogh and Munch that have disappeared.
Applying a filter to a photo is very easy. However, there are some differences in what concerns to the result display between the iOS and Android platforms. While on the first one, the results are almost immediate, in the second one, the time varies depending on the time of the day.
Despite the time it may take, one thing is for sure: the results are amazing.
Another great feature that is included in the Prisma app is the ability to share your photos on the different social media networks.
Differences Between Android & iOS Versions:
The Prisma App was primarily launched only for Apple users and remained this way for a long time. However, due to the popularity it got almost immediately, they decided to create the app for Android users as well.
The fact is that both apps have similar features. However, there are two differences that are worth mentioning:
- The Prisma App is famous not only for the number of different filters you can apply to one photo as for the difference between their filters and other app’s filters. While in the Apple version you can see the result after applying one filter almost immediately, when you’re using the Android version it can take a lot more time, ranging from 15 seconds to 1 minute.
- Just like most photo apps, the social share is a feature on the Prisma app. However, it works in a different way in the iOS app and in the Android app. While on the first one, you have the option to share your image on both Facebook and Instagram, when you’re using the Android app you only have one specific button to share – Facebook.
